The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is designed to teach you the skills necessary to become a professional dive instructor. The course covers everything from dive theory, teaching techniques, student management, and emergency procedures, to providing the knowledge and experience needed to be successful in the diving industry.

After completion of the IDC, you can take the PADI Instructor Examination (IE), the final step to becoming a fully certified PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

Our PADI IDC course is led by our very own highly experienced PADI Course Director Steve Ousby who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in both teaching and the diving industry.

The PADI IDC program is split into two main phases: The Assistant Instructor (AI) Course which includes Dive theory (physics, physiology, equipment, environment, and more), Teaching skills development and Pool and open water training.

The Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) Course follows covering Advanced dive theory, PADI teaching system, Specialty courses and dive briefings, Emergency First Response Instructor Course (EFRI) and Preparation for the Instructor Examination (IE).

To enroll in the PADI IDC, you must first meet the prerequisites, which include being at least 18 years old, holding a PADI Divemaster or equivalent certification, having a minimum of 60 logged dives, and having current CPR and First Aid certification.
